Over the Moo-n! Worm Moon...
The first full moon of spring, The Worm Moon, comes to us as we are suspended in the perfect balance of day and night. The earth is softening and warming. Life is eagerly pushing up and out. These simple yet profound movements of nature at this time are what inspired this moon's nickname. The Native Americans of the Northeastern regions associated the birth of spring with the softening of the earth and emerging of earthworms. The arrival of the worms, in turn, summoned the return of birds that fed upon them, displaying the full resurgence of life that follows. The earthworms' significance may be overlooked in modern times, but the necessity of this little creature is immeasurable. As worms move through the ground, they loosen the soil, making way for roots, plants, and other creatures. In their pathways, they leave behind nutrients that enrich and fertilize the soil, nourishing the earth. Symbolically this speaks to the powers of nurturing, how taking care of oneself has a ripple effect in also nourishing the world around you, sweetening the lives of others. We have much to learn from this humble creature.

MOON AND ME TIME
Create a peaceful bedtime routine. If you don't already have a calming bedtime routine, you'd be surprised how restorative and rewarding it is to create intention during this time. The hour or so before you lay your head to rest will set the tone for quality of sleep, your dream space, and how you feel upon waking. Think of how you'd like to feel once you get into your bed, cozy, calm, and safe. Begin your journey of self-nurturing and renewal. Calm your mind by making it a habit to turn off electronics and dim the lights. Take a soothing shower, use lavender products, put on fresh PJs, have a cup of herbal tea, read a book, pray/meditate, stretch, journal, any combination or order of these habits is up to you! Implementing your personal routine every night is a unique and sacred way to end the day peacefully.
MOO FOR THE MOON
Lavender is known to create an overall sense of well-being and calm. This, combined with its beautifully unique floral scent, has made it widely used throughout the world. Here at DollyMoo, we appreciate and adore lavender in all forms, one of our favorites being the Lavender Water. This is such a versatile way to use lavender and incorporate it into your daily life. A perfect way to refresh yourself is by spritzing Lavender Water on your face. It makes a wonderful linen spray; a calming way to wind down is to gently spray your bedding and pillows before bedtime. A natural alternative to a room spray, Lavender Water will soothe and cleanse any room and is a beautiful addition to a yoga or meditation practice.
